The back story….snowboarding
 
In my former life I was a small business operator. I still am. In fact I was a snowboarder and a small business operator.That’s right I chose to partake in an industry that was weather reliant, in Australia. Why? Because I loved it, the sport that is!
 
As any farmer can tell you doing business in Australia, where you have to rely on the weather, is tough. Doing that same business where the banking system does not even understand yours, nor see any value in it, is even tougher. After many years, 10 in fact I decided to move on to a different industry. Where would I go? Well obviously one that was not weather dependant.
 
After a small hiatus finance was to be that industry. From there futurity was born on 12/1/99. Why the name futurity? Because it has a meaning; ‘the quality of being in the future’. Our aim is to assist each of our clients to achieve their very own ‘quality of being in the future’. What is ‘quality of being’? If you supplant ‘being’ with life it may make more sense ‘quality of life in the future’.
 
Each person has their own idea as to what is important to them. Some wish to be wealthy, some wish to be comfortable, some just want to live simply. Our goal is to assist you to achieve whatever level of ‘being’ or ‘life’ you deem is important to you! One thing is for sure, somewhere along the line you will need money to get to the point you are aiming for. Our job is to make obtaining that money as easy as possible.
 
I know from my snowboarding days how difficult it can be to obtain money when you do not know what is deemed as appealing to a bank. There is nothing worse that hearing the bank manager say ‘if I had the money I would lend it to you myself however the bank does not see your vision and will not lend it to you’. This was said to me in 1993 when I sought access to equity in my own properties to purchase a stake in a snowboard brand. That brand is now the ‘best selling premium snowboard brand in the US for the last 2 years and still trending upward’. Ahhhhh! Confirmation that you may know what you want but they may not connect with your view. This is where we come in as we have a vast understanding of the range of views within Australia’s financial institutions and with this knowledge, can assist you in approaching the right one to achieve the outcome you desire.
 
In the process we will educate you, if required, so that you are better placed for the future. With now over 18 years of knowledge in the financial industry we have learnt a great deal and realise that rather than keep it to ourselves we should pass it on to our clients.
